Expansion of the EPR sector furniture in France
Category textile decoration, or decorative items made of textiles
Affected product groups and decorative items are:
- Decorative carpets
- Floor mats/functional mats
- Removable carpets for events
- Interior blinds, curtains and drapes
- Small decorative textile products
- Hanging asseccoires
- Decorative wall frames and canvases
Distinction from the EPR sector textiles, in which only the following product groups are:
- Clothing
- Household linen including pillowcases
- Shoes
- Wax canvases
As in many other EPR sectors, the following companies are affected by the Extended Manufacturer Responsibility for decorative textile articles in the furniture sector:
- Manufacturers and commercial producers who place products on the market in France
- Importers (wholesalers, retailers and distributors)
- Online store operators, marketplaces
Time Frame:
Eco contribution and Triman logo
For all sales until January 01, 2026, the disposal costs per unit for the furniture sector must be shown on the sales invoices. These costs must be passed down the supply chain on a 1:1 basis.
The Triman logo for this subcategory of furniture, must be on all products/packaging by August 2024. There will be a further 6 month transition period thereafter only for products manufactured/imported before 15th of December 2022 or sold before 15th June 2023.
